Description
SiLP-2623 is a silicone based surface surfactant for solvent-borne coatings systems. It slightly increase surface slip and slightly reduce the surface tension of coating systems. It exhibits good thermal stability and good leveling with defoaming properties.
Composition: Aralkyl-modified polymethylalkylsiloxane
Features
• Increase surface slip
• Good leveling and defoaming alibilty
• Good thermal stability
Application
SiLP-2623 is widely used as a leveling agent with a defoaming effect/doesn’t stabilize or only slightly stabilizesthe foam, depending on the polarity of the coating system. SiLP-2623 is thermally stable up to 250°C and doesn’t impact the intercoat adhesion.
In matte coatings, it is used to orientate the matting agent and in high-solid systems (polyurethane/acid-curing/unsaturated polyesters) that are difficult to matt, it provides optimal orientation of the matting agent without shining up. In flow coating, SiLP-2623 stabilizes the flow curtain and in metallic coatings it ensures consistent orientation of aluminum pigments.
How to use
SiLP-2623 is particularly recommended for all solvent-borne coatings.
Recommended use levels is 0.01-0.3% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation.
