whats is perfluoropolyether ?

perfluoropolyether (Perfluorinated Polyether, PFPE) is a high molecular weight polymer with only C, F, and O atoms in the molecular chain.  It is a colorless, odorless, transparent liquid which features excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation resistance, corrosion resistance, low volatility, and non-combustibility.  PFPE is widely used in harsh environments like electronic, electrical, mechanical, nuclear industry, aerospace, magnetic media and other fields.

There are four structures of PFPE: K,Y,Z and D type. The Z-type and Y-type structures are obtained by photo-oxidative polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and/or hexafluoropropylene (HFP); The K-type structure is obtained by hexafluoropropylene oxide (HFPO) through anion Polymerization; D-type structure obtained by anionic polymerization of tetrafluorooxetane (TFO). PFPE with D-type structure has a non-shielding structure, which is slightly less stable. PFPE with K-type structure has a fully "shielded" structure with branched chains, which has the best stability. The performance of the Z-type and Y-type structures is in between.

The PFPE from Sunoit are mainly K type and Y type structure.

According to its application,  Sunoit Perfluoropolyethers are divided into following product lines:

  • PFPE base oil

  • PFPE grease

  • PFPE for cosmetics

  • Functionalized PFPE

  • PFPE heat transfer oil

  • PFPE for industrial cleaning
